Today Be Your Best!

This is not a blog on organic food. It’s a blog about you! What you’re putting in vs. what you’re getting out. Before we delve in to that let’s talk about the rest you’re getting.  Hopefully it’s plentiful and quality. However, knowing the society and times we are living in probably not! Quality food is like quality rest. You know it when you have it and life seems to go more smoothly when you do. For most of us we get quality sleep when we are on vacation. You may do some catching up on all the sleep you’ve been missing but by day four or five you generally wake up refreshed, without an alarm, and not needing a caffeine jolt. You’re happy and rested. It’s really the same with food. The good news is that you don’t have to wait to take a vacation for this to happen!  As you eat a steady diet of quality, wholesome cooked meals your stomach settles, digestion is smooth, your outlook even during stressful days is positive, and your energy is up. It really is simply with what’s on your plate.  At times, you can’t find the time, motivation or recipes to make for yourself. Or maybe you never had quality instruction on what good wholesome food is and can be. Spoiler alert it isn’t juicing! That’s where I come in! I’ll create it, plate it, deliver it, and you’ll enjoy it. Simple! Time Saving! Life Saving too!  Start Today! Be your best!

The Yoga Move That Aids Breast Cancer Recovery!

As a health and fitness specialist I have the pleasure of working with men and women in various stages of life.  When I first met Vickee she was at the gym 24/7.  Her detour in the road was being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006.  I’m so thankful she recovered and has healed herself from cancer.  Her journey was East meets West and I hope to share more of her story in the weeks to come! DIY- Eat The Rainbow!

An easy way to eat the rainbow is with sweet peppers! Rinse, dry, chop off the top, clean out the seeds, make small cuts in the form of a “T” so it’s easy to stuff, toss with a little olive oil, place upside down on a baking sheet, roast at 425 in the oven for about 30 minutes or until soft, remove from heat and let cool. When you’re ready to eat stuff with your favorite seasoned lean protein, veggies or complex carbs! This is how you can eat the rainbow everyday with minimal effort. Don’t you dare toss those caps either! Bag them and slice or dice them all throughout the week for added crunch to salads, wraps and sautés!

It will be okay to stick with the old you but improved! It’s that special time of year where everyone seems hell bent on changing everything about themselves. You have lots of great things and habits about you and maybe a few that aren’t so good. It’s not a race. Allow yourself time to evolve and grow into the person you want to be. It requires effort and a long term commitment to yourself. In our “insta” society it can seem like everything happens overnight. It doesn’t. You’re smarter than that!
